A smart daily workflow

The site is most useful as a funnel: begin with the slate, narrow the field, inspect the matchup, and confirm the game environment before making a decision.

Verify the board is live

Check the MLB live indicator, update time, game count and probable-pitcher status. A confirmed lineup is stronger evidence than a projected lineup.

Find the strongest starting points

Use AI Says, Slate, or the Decision Center to create a shortlist. Treat these as discovery tools—not final answers.

Compare the games that stand out

On the Slate, use Compare game to select up to five matchups, then open the consolidated analysis. It places the existing pitcher risk, top hitter score, lineup, weather and bullpen signals side by side without creating a separate score.

Test the opposing pitcher

Open Pitcher Vulnerability and Matchup Lab. Look for a vulnerable starter, relevant handedness and pitch-type damage that supports the hitter.

Check where the damage can happen

Use Power Zones and the player-card Zones tab. Strong hitter zones are most useful when they overlap the pitcher’s leak areas.

Confirm environment and lineup

Review weather, park, bullpen support and batting-order position. Lineup protection and expected plate appearances can change the quality of the opportunity.

Review the result, not just the outcome

Use Results and the Hall of Fame to compare pregame signals with what happened. A good process can miss; a home run alone does not prove the process was good.

How to read the data

Scores on different pages answer different questions. Never treat two metrics with similar-looking numbers as interchangeable.

HR ConfidenceA composite board-strength signal used to rank and group candidates.Look for support from power, pitcher, zone and environment instead of using confidence alone.
Power scoreThe strength of the hitter’s power profile.Power is the foundation. Matchup and environment should confirm it rather than manufacture it.
Risk IndexA 0–100 ranking of probable-starter vulnerability.Higher risk identifies a pitcher/offense matchup to investigate. It is not HR probability.
Pitch edgeHow well a hitter’s damage profile matches the opposing pitcher’s pitch mix or attack.Prioritize edges tied to pitches the starter is likely to throw.

SLG / OPSSlugging measures total-base power; OPS combines on-base and slugging production.Useful context for overall offensive quality, not a direct home-run forecast.
ERA / WHIP / HR allowedRun prevention, baserunner traffic and home-run history for the pitcher.Read together with innings and sample size. One extreme number in a short sample can mislead.
Weather / carryHow temperature, wind, roof and venue may affect flight.Use after hitter and matchup quality. Weather amplifies power; it does not create it.
Bullpen supportPotential late-game opportunity after the starter exits.Useful for full-game HR exposure, especially when the opposing relief group is vulnerable.
Percent signs do not always mean probability.

Some displayed values are normalized scores or component strengths. Always use the page label and explanation to understand what the number represents.

Location intelligence

Reading Power Zones

The zone grid divides the hitting area into locations. Color strength helps show where damage is weakest or strongest.

Zone OverlapThe primary hitter-versus-pitcher view. It highlights locations where the hitter’s damage and the pitcher’s leak profile intersect.
Pitcher LeakLocations where the pitcher has been most vulnerable to damage.
AVGBatting average by zone. It describes hit frequency, not power by itself.
ISOIsolated power by zone. It is one of the cleaner ways to locate extra-base damage.
SLGSlugging damage by zone, combining hit frequency and total-base impact.
HRHome-run production by zone. Read it with opportunity and sample size.
The best zone signal is an overlap, not a bright square.

A hitter’s hot area matters most when the opposing pitcher is likely to attack—or leak—into the same location.

Canonical definitions

What the AI Says tags mean

These descriptions come directly from the canonical public tag output. A player can carry several tags because each tag represents a different reason for appearing on the board.

Strong power profile with matchup or pitcher vulnerability support.

ELITE SMASH

Highest-confidence home run profile from the model and board ranking.

SMASH + PARK

Smash profile with added park, weather, bullpen, or damage-zone support.

AI-selected home run profile built from model and matchup signals.

Volatile HR watchlist bats with longshot odds when available, or power-trend upside when books are unavailable.

Common player-card tags

These compact labels identify the type of supporting signal. They are clues telling you where to investigate next.

🔥 HOT LOOKA Strong or Elite home-run look with Decision Center HR confidence of 52 or higher.
☄️ HOT LATELYThe player has hit at least two home runs across his verified last seven MLB games.
🎯 DUEThe player has not homered across his last seven games while carrying a barrel score of at least 80 and a hard-hit score of at least 75. It is a watch signal, not a promise of regression.
👀 SLEEPER MATCHUPA Live Longshot-level player with a pitch edge of 55 or higher and no home run across his last seven games.
POWER / HIGH ISOThe hitter’s production profile shows meaningful power or extra-base strength.
BARREL KINGA high-end power and barrel combination is present.
LEADOFF / TOP 3 / CLEANUP / HEART ORDERBatting-order context. Earlier or central lineup positions can improve plate-appearance and run-production opportunity.

Using every Player Card tab

The card is designed to move from explanation to evidence. Not every tab will have the same amount of data for every player.

WhyThe model’s plain-language case for keeping the player on the board, including supporting signals and risks.
RecentShort-term form and recent performance. Look for contact-quality support, not results alone.
ZonesHitter damage, pitcher leaks and overlap by location.
PitchesPitch-type matchup. Focus on pitches the opponent throws often enough for the edge to matter.
SpotBatting order, lineup protection and opportunity context.
SplitsPerformance by pitcher handedness or relevant split.

Park, wind and roof conditions have been reviewed.
Bullpen context supports—or at least does not undermine—the full-game opportunity.
